No.69 tank and boiler lift


Today Austerity No.69's tank and boiler have successfully been lifted.

The next stage will be for the boiler inspector to survey 69's boiler, in the next couple of weeks, to see what work needs doing. Minor work will continue on the rolling chassis outside until there is space available in the workshop.

The boiler lift begins



The boiler was temporarily placed onto the bed of the hiab lorry, 69's rolling chassis was then hauled out of the way by 08915

With the chassis shunted out of the way the lorry was able to move up and lift the boiler again before lowering it onto the packing
