Volunteers were busy down at Percy Main today carrying out ballasting work in the headshunt, vegetation clearance and fencing repairs

South Gosforth TMD

Tomorrow is the final day in service for the old South Gosforth Car sheds, opened in 1923 to house the North Tyneside Electrics. Tyne and Wear Metro will close the shed tomorrow to open the new depot on the site. Here are some photos of the sheds from the archive.

A little throwback for your Sunday. A veteran from Hartley Main Collieries finds her feet on the bank at Percy Main. Passing some of her more 'modern' counterparts! Number 3 of 1867 continued at work til 1959.
