Today we travel back to the 27th February 1965. The last day of Percy Main locomotive depot (52E).
J27 69795 was decorated with the Union Jack to commemorate the day. The following day the locomotives were transferred to Blyth & Sunderland South Dock sheds.
The shed was opened by the Blyth & Tyne railway company in June 1855, before passing to the NER, LNER, and finally British Railways.
