Final days of our Railway
We bring you some brilliant views of the final days of our railway in use!
The first two show an oil train running round its train on its way to Esso terminal at what is now Royal Quays, John Atkinson is the guard, the driver is J.Hepple with 9P22 was the headcode. The first shows the Coast Road Bridge, the second is behind the bus garage. And shows the junction signals to Percy Main box on the Tyneside loop (now the Metro).
The remaining 5 photos show a class 45/46 on the Norseman boat train, leaving the Tyneside loop, then after running around it passes Percy Main North box to head to the Quay.
