401 propelling the brake van through the run-round loop at Percy Main and into the south headshunt. After stabling the brake van, the engine can then head back through the run-round loop, pick up the wagons and propel them onto the brake van
The other method of running the brake van round. The train is stopped on the bank, brake van detached and the train stabled in the loop. Once safe to do so, the guard takes his handbrake off and gravitates the brake van down the bank and into the south headshunt. The engine can then run round the train and propel the wagons onto the brake van
