New wagon arrives at NTSR

Introducing our latest arrival!

The NTSRA are proud to announce the arrival (or return!) Of Tyne Improvement Commission bolster wagon 14.

Built-in 1920 for the Great Central Railway, by the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon co, it was later sold to the Tyne Improvement Commission. Being based at the southern end of our railway. At the end of its working life, it was donated to the National collection, being preserved at the National Railway Museum. During a recent review of their collections, the wagon was made available to interested groups.

The bolster will require a full overhaul before joining our running fleet. Thanks to the Science Museum group, for allowing us to bring the wagon home.
