Today has been a rare chance to ride in our 1950's brake van hauled by 08915, travelling over track not usually used by passenger trains. It is the first of several events we have organised throughout May to coincide with the opening of the 'Back to Backworth' exhibition in the museum.
Departing Middle Engine Lane at 1115, 1215 and 1315, each train travelled all the way to the buffer stops at Percy Main before returning through the run round loop for the journey back to Middle Engine Lane, where once again it travelled to the buffer stops before returning to the platform via the run round loop.
Guard's van stove lit.
