Miniature Platform Construction


Former standard gauge sleepers turned on their side and buried to give a firm edging.


    Slowly eating into 401's ash deposits for the platform surface.

NCB No.69 paint progress

 Cameron ha been making great progress on his painting mission, aiming to complete the painting of NCB No.69's frames before Christmas.

Recently he completed painting the inside face of the rear buffer beam on the Driver's side, with planning of installing the buffer coming to fruition.





The brake hanger spigots were complete also with the excess paint for the rear buffer beam.

Next he will move onto prepping and painting the Fireman's side.

NCB No.69 frame and tank painting.

 Cameron has been continuing his work on painting the inside of the frames of NCB No.69, with the aim to get one coat of red paint applied before Christmas, today he has been painting one of the frame bracing angles and around the hornguides.

Robert spent the entire afternoon applying a final coat of red oxide paint to NCB No.69's boiler before being stored in the yard for the winter period.

Brake Block Change for 03078


The life expired brake blocks are seen on the running board with a new set ready to be fitted on the deck.


New blocks in place.


Next, the brake rigging is adjusted using the turnbuckles pictured here to compensate for the new, thicker blocks.


Started up and carrying out some light shunting to bed in the new brake blocks.
